In a recent What Franchise article, business advisory specialist Phil Archer points out that the franchise sector is still moving forwards, despite the challenges brought by the Covid crisis.

This is certainly true of greeting card franchisor Card Connection; whose franchise network grew by 8.7% in 2020.

“Greeting cards have always proven to be resistant to economic downturns,” explains Card Connection managing Director, Michael Johnson, “And that’s been helped by our positioning within the convenience sector, which has thrived throughout all of the various restrictions.”

“Our available territories are already established business, which means if you buy one, you’ll enjoy an income from day one.  It’s one of the many reasons banks have always looked favorably at potential franchisees looking to raise finance to be able to come onboard with us,” continues Johnson.

Other risk reducing factors for banks are the fact that Card Connection are the number one card supplier to convenience stores, a sector that continues to grow year on year, and also that they are backed by UK Greetings, one of the largest greeting card publishers in the UK.

“Obviously your personal financial position comes into play, too, but banks are still willing lend for safer ventures, and the cost of a typical Card Connection territory is not beyond the reach of many,” encourages Johnson.
