Scotland is the most attractive location in the UK outside of London for foreign direct investment (FDI) according to the 2020 EY attractiveness survey!
My brother owns several retail outlets and was being supplied Card Connection greeting cards from the previous franchisee so when I heard that the franchise was available back in 2016, I thought it would be a great opportunity to start my own business and become more directly rewarded for all my efforts. The fact that I could see the company had been trading for over 24 years and was still going strong proved that it had a good track record.
I now supply Card Connection’s extensive range of quality greeting cards and accessories to over 200 retailers on my territory Aberdeen.
Running the franchise has not only allowed me to invest in rental properties but I have also moved home, purchased an incredible new van but it has also allowed me to have a better work life balance meaning that more time can be spent with family and doing things that I love such as watching Formula 1 of which I am a massive fan.
One of my biggest achievements so far with Card Connection has been winning Franchisee of the Year back in 2018 and being the Regional Winner for the last 2 years, I feel that in a short space of time I have come a long way.
There is no doubt running the business is hard work. However, with the support I have received from the Card Connection team it has been great and I intend to continue to grow the business and increase sales within outlets where possible.
Card connection franchisees provide 100% coverage of the UK. Because the motivated owners of the franchise provide a caring and carefully planned service to retailers, the company has built up a solid reputation as the UK’s leading supplier of franchised greeting cards and I’m proud to be part of that.
Card connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of American Greetings Inc., one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business. Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. Territories currently available in Scotland are Ayr and Stirling.
